The G1 test is comprised of 40 multiple choice questions. These 40 questions are divided into two sections of study: Traffic laws/rules, and Road signs. There are 20 questions relating to Traffic laws/rules and 20 questions relating to Road signs. You must score a minimum of 80% (16/20) on each section in order to pass and become a G1 licensed holder.

The G1 test costs $158.25 the total includes your official G1 knowledge test and your official G2 road examination. If you fail your G1 you will have to pay an additional $15.75 to retry the knowledge test.

The G1 written test typically takes applicants 40-60 minutes to complete. There are two sections of the test: Traffic laws/rules, and Road signs. Each section of the test typically takes 20-30 minutes. There is no time limit to complete the test, so take your time.

The G2 driving test is 17-20 minutes in duration. The start of the test begins once the driver examiner instructs you to exit the parking lot. It ends once you return to the test center, put the vehicle in park, and turn off the vehicle. 

The G2 test costs $53.75 for one attempt. You must book your road test on the drivetest website or in person at a drivetest center. If you fail you must wait 10 days before re-booking which costs another $53.75.
